Witnessing & Notarizing
(In-Person or Remote, Where Permitted)
I offer witnessing and notarization services for affidavits, statutory declarations, and other documents that require a commissioner or notary.
Appointments are available in person and, for certain documents, by video conference, where permitted under Manitoba law.
What I Can Help With
Court documents
Statutory declarations
Notarized copies
Documents prepared for use in other jurisdictions
Other documents requiring witnessing or commissioning (subject to review)
If you’re unsure whether your document qualifies, you can submit it for review before booking.
In-Person Appointments
In-person witnessing and notarization is available by appointment at my coworking space on most Fridays.
This option is suitable for:
any document that must be signed in person, or
situations where remote commissioning is not permitted or practical.
Remote (Video) Commissioning
For certain documents, Manitoba law permits commissioning by video conference.
Where remote commissioning is available:
we meet by secure video link,
I verify identity and observe the document being signed in real time, and
the original document is then provided to me so I can complete the commissioning in accordance with statutory requirements.
Remote commissioning is not available for all document types, and availability depends on the document and circumstances.
Important Limitations
Remote commissioning is only offered where expressly permitted by law.
Documents requiring in-person witnesses are not eligible for remote witnessing.
I do not provide legal advice about the contents or effect of documents I am witnessing or notarizing.
How the Process Works
Submit a short request form with your name and email.
You’ll receive instructions to email:
a copy of the document to be signed, and
government-issued photo ID for each signer.
Once reviewed, I’ll confirm whether the document can be completed in person or remotely, and provide booking options.
Fees
Witnessing and notarization services are provided on a flat-fee basis.
$95 for up to 20 minutes
Includes review of the document for commissioning purposes and the appointment itself
Additional time or multiple documents may require a further fee, which will be discussed in advance
